BROOKLYN — An East Flatbush family was terrorized by two masked men who broke into their home Tuesday afternoon and threatened to kidnap their baby if they resisted, police said.

The suspects, each wearing bandanas over their faces, broke into an East 49th Street apartment at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, grabbed the family's 1-year-old boy, pointed a gun at him and threatened to take him if the rest of his family did not comply with their orders, according to authorities.

The family handed over sneakers and electronics, police said, before the suspects tossed the child to the ground and fled.

A surveillance video released by police shows the men entering the apartment building and talking to one another in a stairwell before the crime.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at 800-577-8477. All calls are confidential.
