Man Tried Abducting 7-Year-Old Girl in Corona on Labor Day, Police Say

CORONA — A man tried abducting a young girl on Labor Day as she was playing outside, police said.

The suspect was driving near Corona Avenue and National Street around 4:30 p.m. Monday when he motioned for a 7-year-old girl to get into his car, according to the NYPD.

The girl was outside playing, police said, and didn't get in. The suspect then fled southbound on National Street when the victim wouldn't get into the car, police said.

He was driving a black Toyota Camry with tinted windows and white New York plates, and police said the car is from 2012 through 2014.
