Man Breaks Through Metal Gate to Rob Bronx Chinese Restaurant, Police Say

THE BRONX — A man busted through a metal roll-down gate to steal $900 from a Chinese restaurant in Concourse Village last month, according to the NYPD.

The robber broke through the gate at Double Dragon Chinese Food at 182 East 166th St. about 3:30 a.m. on Aug. 16, according to police and security video footage.

Once inside, the thief took the money from the cash register, police said.

Police described the suspect as 5 feet 10 inches tall and 200 pounds. He was wearing a baseball hat, multi-colored polo shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.

A worker who answered the phone at the restaurant declined to comment.
