BROOKLYN — A woman fended off an attempted rapist in the hallway of a Bed-Stuy building over the weekend, the NYPD said.

The attacker followed the 32-year-old woman into the hallway of a building near Ralph Avenue and Bainbridge Street Sunday just before 8 a.m., police said.

He then tried to rape her, but she fought him off, and the attacker fled with her cellphone, the NYPD said.

The suspect is described as standing 5-foot-11 and weighing 195 pounds, and was wearing a blue shirt with a Yankees cap at the time of the attack, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
