EAST HARLEM — A 29-year-old man was shot in the head and killed in East Harlem Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

Terrell Day was found in a fifth-floor hallway of 433 E. 102 St. of NYCHA's East River Houses about 1 p.m., police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Friends described Day, of West Harlem, as loyal and compassionate and said he could put a smile on anyone's face.

"He was the glue for the neighborhood," said long-time pal Corey Hill, 38. "He played ball. He watched the kids around the area play. Harlem lost a good man."

"He was a funny person," added ex-neighbor Viola Brown, 47. "If you were in a bad mood, he'd make you laugh. He'd make some kind of joke. He was very playful, very sweet."

There were still no arrests as of Wednesday morning, an NYPD spokesman said.
