BATTERY PARK CITY — Free, outdoor blues music is coming to the Lower Manhattan waterfront next week.

Soul powerhouse Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings, as well as Grammy-winning group The Robert Cray Band, will headline the two-day Lowdown Hudson Blues Festival, at Battery Park City’s Brookfield Plaza on July 16 and 17.

Jones will perform on July 16 at the outdoor plaza along the Hudson at 220 Vesey St. with opening act the No BS! Brassband. On July 17, The Robert Cray Band will be joined by jazz musician John Hiatt and the James Carter Organ Trio.

The is the fourth year the festival has returned to the riverside plaza.

Admission is only available for those who get one of the free tickets for limited seating available in person only on the day of each concert, starting at 3 p.m.

Doors open at 5 p.m. and the shows begin at 6 p.m.
