BOERUM HILL — A new French-American restaurant, which took over the former location of Apartment 138, is one of the latest additions to the neighborhood’s food scene.

White Oak opened its doors last month at 138 Smith St. Chef and co-owner Adam Adlouni decided to open the restaurant after attending the International Culinary Center in SoHo.

Adlouni, 28, grew up in the restaurant business because of his father, Sharif, who has worked in the industry for more than three decades.

“I figured I’d continue his legacy,” the younger Adlouni said.

The father-son team partnered to open White Oak — Adam’s first restaurant and one of many for Sharif but his first in Brooklyn.

The space was once home to Apartment 138, an American fare restaurant that closed its doors last year. The restaurant and its spacious back garden have been renovated since the new owners took over.

White Oak’s new menu features yellow fin tuna, fresh fettuccini, red snapper, Berkshire pork, duck-bacon sandwich and a raw bar. The restaurant also has a full bar and serves a selection of local beers.
