QUEENS — A burglar broke into a Forest Hills apartment through an open window and stole several pieces of jewelry, including diamond and emerald rings, police said.

The incident took place on Thursday, June 5, between 2 and 3 a.m., when no one was home, police said.

After breaking into the apartment on 108th Street, between 67th Drive and 67th Road, the thief stole jewelry, including two emerald rings, one diamond ring and a pair of earrings, police said.

The value of the jewelry was not immediately known, authorities said.

Police described the suspect as 28 years old, wearing a multi-colored cap, shorts with reflective stripes and a red long sleeve shirt and carrying a backpack.
