UPPER WEST SIDE — Schools Chancellor Carmen Fariña will hold a discussion with District 3 parents Wednesday night, at the invitation of the local Community Education Council.

From 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Fariña will attend a town hall in the auditorium of the Joan of Arc school complex on West 93rd Street between Amsterdam and Columbus avenues.

Parents are encouraged to submit questions ahead of time to the District 3 Town Hall blog run by CEC 3.

CEC members will prescreen the questions, group them by topic and then present them to Fariña at the meeting.

"The intent is for us to allow members of the public as much opportunity to hear directly from the chancellor as possible and also that the key issues are addressed," said CEC 3 president Joe Fiordaliso.

Fariña will also make a brief set of opening remarks and take live questions from the audience during a question-and-answer period at the end of the hour.

During the open mic, parents may ask questions that are more school specific, including the wait list at P.S. 199, the development project proposed next to P.S. 163 and co-location issues at FDA II, Fiordaliso said.
