GREAT KILLS — A car jumped a curb onto a Staten Island sidewalk Monday, hitting and killing a woman and leaving another pedestrian hurt, police said.

Christal Aliotta, 31, was at the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and Hylan Boulevard about 2:45 p.m. when a 23-year-old driver heading south on Hylan lost control of his 2005 Honda Accord and slammed into her and another woman, whose name was not released, the NYPD said.

Both pedestrians were taken to Staten Island University Hospital North, where Aliotta was pronounced dead. The other woman had minor injuries and was listed in stable condition, police said.

Driver Michael Fox was arrested for driving without a license, drug possession, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic instrument, the NYPD said. A police spokesman did not have further information about the charges.

Fox has been arrested 10 times, the spokesman said. He pleaded guilty to drug possession in May and June of 2013, court records show.
