INWOOD — Dyckman Street was the the scene of a drive-by shooting Wednesday afternoon, sources told DNAinfo New York.

Three shots were fired outside of Mamajuana Cafe from a white SUV travelling east on Dyckman Street between Payson and Seaman avenues just after 3 p.m., police sources said. The shots were fired into the air from a .40 caliber handgun.

The SUV then spun around and fled west on Dyckman Street toward Payson Avenue.

"I heard loud shots," said Jessie Dominguez, who works across Dyckman Street at Tread Bike Shop. "Then I saw the SUV turn and head down Payson."

"I didn't think it was a gunshot," added Natalie Cerda, who works next door to Mamajuana at Sao. "It was more like a loud pop."

"It all happened so quick," she added. "Everyone was puzzled."

No one was injured, police said, and an investigation is ongoing.

The incident was the fifth bout of gunfire in Inwood since mid-May. The shootings have prompted police in the 34th precinct to request an impact zone for the east side of Inwood, potentially flooding the neighborhood with up to 40 additional officers if approved.
