John Gorman, 79, is a former firefighter and “might frequent areas around fire houses,” according to the 112th Precinct's Twitter.

Gorman, who was last seen leaving his apartment on Burns Street, near Tennis Place, on Tuesday around 11 a.m., is also known to walk around Queens Boulevard and Austin Street, police said.

He has been reported missing before, according to police.

His disappearance prompted a massive search that involved a helicopter flying over the area on Tuesday evening.

He was last seen wearing a tan baseball hat with fire department logo, gray long-sleeve polo shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.
