Bank Robber Steals Cash from 14th Street HSBC, Police Say

MANHATTAN — A middle-aged robber struck a bank on 14th Street this week — and got away with more than $1,200 in cash, police said.

The suspect handed a note demanding money to a teller at the HSBC Bank at 101 W. 14th St., at Sixth Avenue, at 3:35 p.m. on Tuesday, the NYPD said. The robber received a manila envelope from the teller containing $1,267 and then fled, police said.

Police described the suspect as a 50- to 60-year-old man, standing 5-foot-8 and weighing 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a burgundy button-down shirt, a gray T-shirt, jeans, and gray-and-black sneakers, police said.
