THE BRONX — The top of a Morris Heights auto shop's facade toppled over and spilled bricks onto the sidewalk Monday morning, officials and witnesses said.

A parapet wall, an upward extension to the facade, partially collapsed at Bronx County Auto Glass, 1679 Jerome Ave., near East 174th Street, about 12:40 p.m., an FDNY spokesman and a neighbor said.

"I was working and I heard like an explosion," said Abdullah Nashal, 21, a manager of a neighboring poultry market.

No injuries were reported in the collapse, the FDNY said.

The Department of Buildings issued a vacate order for both 1679 and 1681 Jerome Ave. for failing to maintain facilities, a spokeswoman said.
