BROOKLYN — The driver who fatally struck a Gowanus auto shop worker in early May before driving off has been identified, but still remains at large, police said.

Miguel Morales, 35, drove south on Third Avenue Nissan Altima, rear-ending a parked car and 27-year-old Felipe Castro as he was working on a car near 7th Street about 7:30 a.m. May 10, police said.

The crash slammed Castro into the back of another parked vehicle, police said. The Sunset Park resident was taken to Methodist Hospital and pronounced dead, police said.

Morales' car bounced into a third parked car, but managed to drive away before police arrived, the NYPD said.

A witness managed to identify Morales, who has been arrested several times, through a photo line-up, a police spokeswoman said. She couldn't elaborate further on his arrests.

Morales is 5 foot 7 inches and weighs 225 pounds, the NYPD said.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
