BROOKLYN — A funeral for a 21-month-old Crown Heights boy who died after falling from a window in his family's sixth-floor apartment was planned for early Thursday afternoon, police said.

Theodore Nemon was home with his mother, Sarah, and a caretaker, whose name was not released, at 580 Crown St., near Albany Avenue, about 11:30 a.m. when he tumbled out of an open window that had no guards on it, a source and the NYPD said.

He fell three stories to a third-floor balcony.

The mother of the boy dialed 911 once she realized he was gone and first responders rushed him to Kings County Hospital where he later died, police said.

"We'd like to thank everyone for their prayers. It's a difficult time for us," said the boy's half brother, Jacob Nemon, 28.

The toddler's funeral will leave from Shomrei Hadas, 3803 14th Ave., at 12:30 p.m. and pass by 770 Eastern Parkway about 1:15 p.m., according to a funeral announcement.

It was not immediately clear if any criminality was involved in the boy's death. Police and the Department of Health, which investigates similar fall cases, were investigating.

The building's owner did not return calls for comment.
