ASTORIA — It's a cool way to support the local arts.
Organic burger chain Bareburger added a new ice cream sandwich flavor to its menu this month at its four restaurants in Queens and proceeds from the frozen treat will be donated to the Queens Theatre, the company said.
Until June 1, customers can find The Dirty Mint Chip Ice Cream Sammie — made by gourmet ice cream truck company Coolhaus — at Bareburger's Bayside, Forest Hills and two Astoria locations.
The dessert is made with double-chocolate chip cookies sandwiched around Coolhaus' mint chip ice cream and served with a caramel dipping sauce.
All proceeds from the sandwiches, which cost $6.95, will go to the Queens Theatre and its 25th Anniversary Gala, which is scheduled for June 2 and will honor Bareburger co-founder and CEO Euripides Pelekanos.
The annual event helps support Queens Theatre's productions, educational programs, new play development program and special events, according to performance venue's website.
