MIDTOWN — A flash-flood watch is in effect across the city from noon Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday as a cold front sweeps into the area, according to the National Weather Service.

Some light showers are expected Friday morning, intensifying around 2 p.m. and dragging on throughout the afternoon, a service spokeswoman said.

The worst of the rain will likely hit around 8 p.m. Friday and last until 2 a.m. Saturday.

The city is expected to receive up to 1.5 inches of rain by the time the cold front moves out of the area.

Saturday will be cloudy throughout the morning, before clearing up and reaching 75 degrees during the afternoon, according to the service.

Sunday should be sunny as well with a high near 73.
