EAST HARLEM — A memorial service for Sidy Fofana, the 9-year-old boy who fell to his death off of a Bronx apartment building late last month, is scheduled to take place at the boy's school on Thursday evening, according to the boy's mom and school officials.

The service is will take place at Harlem Success Academy 3 in East Harlem, where Fofana was a fourth-grade student.

His mother, Sanata Diakite, said she was happy that the school would be holding a memorial service for her son, who dreamed of becoming a dentist.

She described him as an enthusiastic student who was good at all of his subjects and enjoyed school, particularly math class.

"He loved math more than anything," she said.

The service is not open to the public.

Fofana fell off the roof of 20 Richman Plaza, his family's Morris Heights high-rise, on April 23 after relatives said he visited his uncle on the structure's 43rd floor to get money for food. The family has seen an outpouring of support since then from coworkers, friends and neighbors.

There was no evidence of suicide or criminality and no one has been charged in the case so far, police said.
