BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — A popular outdoor movie series at Brooklyn Bridge Park is back this year.

The 15th annual event, called "Syfy Movies with a View," will kick off on July 10 and features films with titles that have animal names, the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy announced.

The free movie festival will feature the first-ever outdoor screening of "Sharknado," Syfy’s horror movie about a shark invasion in Los Angeles. Other films in the lineup include the Marx Brothers’ "Duck Soup," "Fantastic Mr. Fox," "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" and Alfred Hitchcock’s horror flick, "The Birds."

The series, which runs every Thursday night beginning July 10 to Aug. 28 at Pier 1’s Harborview Lawn, will end with a public vote for the last film.

DJs from Brooklyn radio will spin pre-movie music and BAMcinématek has curated a number of short films that will be screened before the feature movie.

“This year, there's no question what the theme is, and we've had fun with it,” said Hilary Tholen, chair of the Conservancy's volunteer Film Committee.

“We are looking forward to audiences being terrified along with Tippi Hendren in 'The Birds,' laughing with the Marx Brothers in 'Duck Soup,' and heating up with Elizabeth Taylor and Paul Newman in 'Cat on a Hot Tin Roof,' all while soaking in the best views in the city.”
