Cyclist Sought in Near-Fatal Hit-And-Run Accident, Police Say

MIDTOWN — A pedestrian crossing the street near Bryant Park is now in a medically induced coma with a fractured skull after being struck by a bicyclist, who fled the scene, police said.

The unidentified man was taken to Bellevue Hospital where he was originally listed in critical condition with a fractured skull, authorities said. His status as been upgraded to stable condition.

Police are looking for a man, who they said hit the man at West 40th Street and Sixth Avenue on April 7 about 2 p.m. then pedaled away. He was wearing a grey hoodie and dark clothes.
