NYCHA to Start $19 Million Upgrades to Mariners Harbor Roofs and Exteriors

MARINERS HARBOR — The New York City Housing Authority will give a $19 million upgrade to the roof and exterior of the Mariners Harbor Houses.

NYCHA put out a bid on Thursday to start work on all 22 buildings in the Mariners Harbor Houses.

The project will repair and replace bricks from the exteriors of the building, as well as replace the roofs, NYCHA said.

Renovations, which include removing, re-pointing and replacing the roofs of the buildings, is expected to start by the end of the year and cost an estimated $19 million, NYCHA said.

The deadline for the bids to be submitted is on May 19, and construction's expected to be completed by 2016, NYCHA said.
