QUEENS — A construction worker was crushed in an accident at a high-end custom stone and tile workshop in Astoria on Tuesday.

The incident happened just before 12:50 p.m. when part of a container crushed a 26-year-old man at Pro Design Inc. on 23-21 48th St., an FDNY spokesman said.

The unidentified worker was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital where he was in serious condition, the spokesman added.

A representative from Pro Design declined to comment on the injury.

The shop's luxury clients include The Plaza Hotel, 15 Central Park West and multiple Upper East Side apartments along Fifth and Park avenues, according to their website.

It was not immediately clear what caused the accident, the FDNY spokeswoman said.
