RIDGEWOOD — A woman and a man were found shot to death in their Queens apartment Thursday evening, the NYPD said.

The 21-year-old woman, Natalie Mejia-Tavares, was shot in the chest and a man, whose name was not released, was shot in the head, police said. The murder weapon was not found, an NYPD spokesman said.

They were found dead about 6:15 p.m. in their apartment at 1815 Summerfield St., near Seneca Avenue in Ridgewood, which they had moved recently, police and neighbors said.

The circumstances of their deaths were not immediately clear. Both were pronounced dead at the scene, the NYPD said.

Neighbor Lou Figueroa, 40, came home Thursday night and saw a swarm of police gathered outside the building.

"I thought maybe its a break in, but do they really need that many cops for a break in?" said Figueroa, who has lived on the block for three years.
