FORT GREENE — The 88th Precinct has a new commanding officer — Capt. Peter Fiorillo, who has served in precincts around the city in his more than two-decade carreer.

Fiorillo replaces Deputy Inspector Scott Henderson, who is moving to the 81st Precinct in Bedford-Stuyvesant, officials announced.

Fiorillo, who was appointed to the NYPD in February 1994, began his career on patrol in the 115th Precinct in Queens. Over the last 20 years he has served in the 47, 90, 79, 43, 61, 109 and 115th Precincts, according to the NYPD.

He was promoted to Captain in August 2010 and will begin serving the 88th Precinct immediately, according to police.

Henderson — who has led the 88th Precinct since February 2012 — served his last day on March 26, police said.

In 2013, Henderson's first full year as commanding officer, major crimes dropped 6.5 percent in the precinct with the largest drop coming in the number of reported burglaries — down 30 percent from from 209 to 146.

He was also instrumental in organizing a fundraiser to provide local P.S. 67 kids with holiday gifts but came under fire when members of the precinct skipped a community meeting to address a murder and ongoing mayhem on Myrtle Avenue last year.

The Deputy Inspector recently promised locals he would get tough on enforcing traffic safety laws in the wake of a 9-year-old's death by an out-of-control driver.

Henderson was assigned to the 81st Precinct, replacing Inspector Juanita Holmes.
