MANHATTAN — A cement truck plowed into an elevated 1 train structure at 133rd Street and Broadway early Thursday morning, delaying service as crews worked to repair the damage, MTA officials said.
The truck crashed into the structure beneath the train tracks sometime before 1 a.m. Thursday, according to the MTA.
Service was delayed as MTA crews worked to repair the damage.
As a result of the crash, southbound 1 trains were running express from 137th Street to 96th Street, as of 9:40 a.m., according to the MTA.
The 1 train was also affected south of Chambers Street on Thursday morning, when a track fire near the Chambers Street station at 5:45 a.m. forced trains to run express from 14th Street to Chambers Street.
Service between Chambers Street and South Ferry was suspended from 6 a.m. to 6:28 a.m. an MTA spokeswoman said.
