BROOKLYN — A man shot four boys in their legs after chasing them through Williamsburg Friday night, police said.

The gunman held his weapon out in front of him as pursued the boys — a 12-year-old, a 17-year-old and two 14-year-olds — down South Second Street toward Havemeyer Street about 7:30 p.m., the NYPD said.

The boys were each shot in the leg, police said.

They were in stable condition at Bellevue and Kings County hospitals, the NYPD said.

It was not immediately clear what sparked the shooting.

Police released surveillance photos of the suspect stalking the boys with his weapon drawn.

He was wearing an orange or red sweater and is believed to be about 20 years old, the NYPD said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
