BROOKLYN — Two civilians and four firefighters were injured when a fire tore through an apartment across from the Brooklyn Museum Thursday night, the FDNY said.
The fire began in a twelfth-story apartment building at 135 Eastern Parkway, near Washington Avenue, at 11:30 p.m., an FDNY spokesman said.
Two civilians suffered minor injuries and were taken to area hospitals, the spokesman said.
Three firefighters were treated at Cornell hospital and another at Methodist, all for minor injuries, the FDNY spokesman said.
The nearly 140 firefighters who responded brought the flames under control about 1:50 a.m., the FDNY said.
The cause of the fire was still under investigation Friday morning.
