CENTRAL HARLEM —  A woman was found dead with a cut on her face and bullet wounds in her torso inside a building at the St. Nicholas Houses early Sunday, police said.

The victim, Mendy Gashier, 24, who lived in East Harlem, was found by housing police responding to a 911 call reporting an unconcious person at 1:49 a.m. inside 240 W.129th St.

Gashier was lying in the sixth floor hallway, with a cut across her face and several gunshot wounds in her midsection, police said. A blood trail led investigators to a vacant apartment on the same floor, the NY Daily News reported.

Rescuers rushed Gashier to Harlem Hospital, but she was declared dead on arrival.

Police said an investigation was ongoing.
