DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — Police are searching for a woman who clocked a female straphanger in the face inside the Hoyt-Schermerhorn Street subway station late last month, police said.

The suspect and her alleged 24-year-old victim had been riding the G train together on Jan. 26, around 5 p.m., when both got off at the station.

After hitting the victim, the suspect, who was wearing a black knit cap, black gloves and a long gray coat with a fur-lined hood, fled the scene, police said. The victim was treated for minor injuries.

It is unclear if the two knew each other and police offered no motive for the assault.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
