MANHATTAN — A person was injured in the Wall Street subway station during Friday morning's rush-hour commute, the FDNY said.
A straphanger was running for his train when he tripped down some stairs and slammed into a southbound 2 train as it was departing the station, near William Street, about 6:30 a.m., an MTA spokeswoman said.
He was alert and interviewed by emergency responders who then took him to Bellevue Hospital Center, according to the FDNY and MTA.
He was initially reported to be in critical condition, an FDNY spokesman said.
Southbound 2 and 3 trains were temporarily disrupted, but resumed normal service about 7:50 a.m., according to the MTA's website.
Commuters can expect some delays and should check the MTA's website for service updates.
