QUEENS — A woman was hit by a car while crossing Austin Street on Wednesday morning, fire officials said.
The accident took place around 10:45 a.m. at the intersection of Austin Street and 70th Road in Forest Hills, according to the Fire Department.
The vehicle remained on the scene, sources said. The circumstances of the accident were not immediately clear.
The woman, whose identity was not immediately released, sustained an ankle injury and was taken to Forest Hills Hospital, officials said.
