Service Changes to Disrupt 11 Subway Lines This Weekend

NEW YORK CITY — Weekend snow and rain won’t be the only factors disrupting your weekend as service changes will be coming to 11 subway lines.

Construction and maintenance work, including Hurricane Sandy recovery work in Greenpoint, will bring changes to the 6, A, C, E, F, G, J, L, N, Q, and R lines.

Here’s the breakdown per line:

6 Train: Brooklyn Bridge-bound trains will run express between Pelham Bay Park and Parkchester from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday.

A Train: Brooklyn-bound trains will run local between 59th Sreet/Columbus Circle and West 4th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

C Train: Brooklyn-bound trains will be rerouted to the F line in Manhattan and Brooklyn between West 4th Street and Jay Street-Metro Tech Saturday and Sunday from 6:30 a.m. to midnight.

E Trains: Manhattan-bound trains will run express between 34th Street-Penn Station and Canal Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Also on the E line, Queens-bound trains will run express between Queens Plaza and Roosevelt Avenue Saturday and Sunday from 12:15 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. and Monday from 12:15 a.m. to 5 a.m.

F Train: Queens-bound trains will run on the M line between 47th-50th Street and Queens Plaza from 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

G Train: All trains will run every 20 minutes between Court Square and Bedford-Nostrand Avenues, due to Sandy recovery work in the Greenpoint tube, Saturday and Sunday from 5 a.m. to midnight.

J Train: Service will be suspended between Essex Street and Chambers Street in both directions from 12:45 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday. For service to and from Bowery, Canal Street, and Chambers Street, commuters can use the 4 or 6 trains at nearby stations.

L Train: Trains will run every 24 minutes between Rockaway Parkway and Broadway Junction from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday. Also, L service will operate in two sections between 8th Avenue and Broadway Junction, and Between Broadway Junction and Rockaway Parkway. Commuters will need to transfer at Broadway Junction.

N Train: Ditmars Boulevard-bound trains will be rerouted on the D express line from Stillwell Avenue to 36th Street in Brooklyn Saturday and Sunday from 6:45 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Q Train: Service will be suspended in both directions between 57th Street-7th Avenue and Parkside Avenue from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Free shuttle buses will provide alternate service between Parkside Avenue and Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center. For service to Manhattan, commuters can take the D, F, or N trains from Stillwell Avenue. For service to Brooklyn, commuters can take the D, F, or N trains to Herald Square, or the D or N train to Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center.

R Train: Service on the R line will extend to Jamaica 179th Street via the F line Saturday and Sunday from 6 a.m. to midnight. Also during that time, Queens-bound trains will run express from Queens Plaza to Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue.
