TRIBECA —  A popular vegan and raw-food cafe in Park Slope is sprouting a new location Downtown.

Sun In Bloom is preparing to open a second eatery at 165 Church St. on Jan. 11, said Aimee Follette, the owner and chef.

The new Downtown restaurant will mostly offer takeout and with just a few seats, unlike the original 4-year-old sit-down spot on Bergen Street, Follette said.

“We’ll still have basically the same menu, but the food, like our sandwiches, wraps and salads, will be prepared to go,” said Follette, 35. “We’ll also have a bar of hot food for takeout.”

The healthy-eats spot will also serve fresh, cold-pressed juices, its own blend of fair-trade coffee and a selection of vegan, gluten-free sweets.

Follette, who is a holistic health coach, said the goal of the restaurant is to create “delicious, plant-based, whole food that is accessible to everyone.”

“It’s food that tastes good and leaves you feeling energized,” she added.

Items on the menu include the $9.50 Reuben Special, a marinated tempeh sandwich with homemade raw sauerkraut and “live” creamy dressing — which includes sprouted sunflower seeds — and a vegan, gluten-free banana cake with chocolate ganache and vanilla frosting.

As reported in Tribeca Citizen, the new eatery takes the place of Mimi’s Café, a former health food store.

"We were looking to expand, and this location in TriBeCa opened up," Follette said. "We're really looking forward to bringing this type of healthy and tasty food to the neighborhood."
