BROOKLYN — A woman died Sunday night after two vehicles hit her on McGuinness Boulevard — one of them driven by a man who had been arrested six days earlier for driving with a suspended license, police said.
Nicole Detweiler, 32, was crossing McGuinness from east to west at Nassau Avenue about 5:30 p.m. when a southbound BMW hit her and sent her into the path of an Isuzu box truck, the NYPD said.
Detweiler, who lived in Bed-Stuy, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Both drivers remained on the scene and 35-year-old Roberto Amador, who was behind the wheel of the Isuzu, was arrested afterward, the NYPD said.
Amador was charged with driving without a license, right on the heels of his arrest Dec. 23 for driving with a suspended license after he hit a cab on West End Avenue at West 105th Street, prosecutors said.
"I was traveling southbound on West End when the cab cut me off," Amador told prosecutors, records show.
His license was suspended on May 28 because he didn't pay $100 for a driver responsibility assessment, a recurring fee drivers pay the DMV for various infractions, a spokeswoman said.
He was saddled with the fee after accruing six points on his license between December 2011 and May 2013, the spokeswoman said.
Police said Amador had also been arrested in 2011, but couldn't provide any additional details.
Amador's arrest comes on the heels of a Dec. 20 traffic death in which a tractor-trailer struck and killed an 8-year-old boy blocks from his Elmhurst school.
That truck's driver, Mauricio Osorio-Palominos, was arrested for driving with a suspended license as well, police said.
