CORONA — The cure for post-holiday blues? Creative arts-and-crafts — with a green twist.

The New York Hall of Science is hosting a "remake the holidays" event for families with hands-on activities that let you recycle things like Christmas wrapping paper and create new items.

Kids can make lanterns or snowflakes using recycled paper, light-up origami, a model of a city made out of recycled materials and more.

There will also be daily ice sculptures by artist Billy Bywater, sewing lessons and a "Trashion" runway show to flaunt clothing made at the museum.

And on Dec. 28, artist Jon Lane, who designed the Gingerbread Lane exhibit, will help kids make their own sweet houses.

The Remake the Holidays event runs Dec. 27 through Dec. 30 at the New York Hall of Science. Some of the activities require an additional fee. For a full listing of events, times and details, visit the NYSCI site.
