JAMAICA — Two teenagers trying to squeeze into the subway system on the same MetroCard swipe could now be sharing a jail cell after they were caught with an illegal handgun, police said.

Bo Bannister, 16, and Daquan Monroe, 17, tried to get through the same turnstile at the Archer Avenue/Parsons Boulevard station at the same time using the same card about 12:45 p.m. Tuesday afternoon, according to the NYPD.

Officers Brian Chaing and John Cammarata, who are assigned to the 103 Precinct, spotted the illegal maneuver and stop the two young men, authorities said.

When the officers patted the teenagers down they found a Bryco Jennings 9 mm handgun on one of them, the NYPD said.

Bannister and Monroe were both charged with criminal possession of a weapon and theft of services, police said.
