MANHATTAN — A man was chased and then beaten by a group of six people at the Christopher Street PATH station Sunday morning, a Port Authority police spokesman said.
The 44-year-old New Jersey man, whose identity was not released, walked into the station, near Greenwich Street, about 6:30 a.m. and encountered three men and three women who were blocking the turnstiles, the PAPD said.
The man and the group started arguing, and the man fled back to street level, the PAPD spokesman said. The group caught up with him and knocked him to the ground before kicking and punching him, the spokesman said.
He received cuts to his lip, forehead and left hand and was treated and released from Jersey City Medical Center, the Port Authority said.
The six suspects can be seen smiling and walking through the train station in surveillance photos released by police.
