QUEENS — Four people were taken to the hospital after a fire tore through the second floor of a Jackson Heights building Wednesday morning, an FDNY spokesman said.

The fire began on the second floor of 79-18 Roosevelt Ave., near 80th Street, about 2:25 a.m. and raged until the more than 100 firefighters who responded brought it under control about an hour later, the FDNY said.

Two civilians and two firefighters were taken to area hospitals and treated for minor injuries, a fire spokesman said.
