MANHATTAN — A young woman inside a TD Bank on Second Avenue after using the ATM was punched by a stranger who attacked her as she tried to leave, the NYPD said.

The 19-year-old victim was trying to walk out of the TD Bank at 576 Second Ave. about 9:40 p.m. Nov. 11, when a man blocked the exit and punched her to the ground, police said.

He continued to punch her as she lay on the floor, and then fled the bank without taking anything from the woman, police said. The young woman was treated for minor injuries, police said.

Police described the suspect as a tall, bearded man in his 40s, wearing a black sweatshirt, gray jeans, a black skullcap and black sneakers. He also carried a small rolling suitcase, police said.

Police ask anyone with information on this case to call 1-800-577-8477. All calls are confidential.
