MANHATTAN — Two students from New Jersey were attacked by a group of people inside the 9th Street PATH station Sunday morning, the Port Authority said.

The 23-year-old students, a man and a woman, were walking through the station about 7 a.m., when they bumped into a group of people, sparking a fight, a Port Authority spokesman said.

During the fight, the female student fell and cut her head on a metal bench, and was treated at Bellevue, police said. The man she was with refused medical attention at the scene, PAPD said.

Deon Hinnat, 17, of New Jersey, and a 14-year-old boy whose name was not released, were arrested after the attack and charged with assault and gang assault, the PAPD said. Two other suspects escaped, police said.
