JACKSON HEIGHTS — Residents looking to help the victims of Typhoon Haiyan can drop off supplies and donations this weekend in the neighborhood.

Democratic District Leader Jessica Ramos said a drive will be held Sunday, Nov. 17 in front of the Post Office on 37th Avenue between 78th and 77th Streets, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The most-needed items include gently-used clothing, new underwear and socks.

They'll also collect canned foods and personal hygiene items.

A similar drive will be held Sunday at St. Joan of Arc Parish after the monthly Filipino mass, which begins at 1:30 p.m.

The parish's Filipino-American Society will collect clothing, canned goods and monetary donations at the church, on 35th Avenue between 82nd and 83rd street, when the mass finishes at around 2:30 p.m.
