MANHATTAN — A track fire in the Canal Street subway station disrupted service along the A and E lines during Thursday morning's commute, officials said.

The flames erupted about 5 a.m. inside the station near Canal Street and Sixth Avenue and were brought under control about an hour later, the FDNY said.

Southbound A and E trains were temporarily disrupted but resumed regular service about 6:20 a.m., though commuters should expect delays, the MTA's website said.

No injuries related to the fire were reported, the FDNY said.

The cause is still under investigation.
