SOUTH STREET SEAPORT — Popular fall food festival Taste of the Seaport returns to Front Street this Sunday, raising money for the Spruce Street School with tasty bites from newly reopened Seaport eateries.

The annual fundraiser, which began in 2010 to support the new elementary school, offers “tastes” from local restaurants that donate their time — and food — for the outdoor event along Front Street, between Peck Slip and Beekman Street.

Featured bites will come from recently launched Barbalu, a new restaurant from the former co-owner of Seaport favorite Barbarini; sushi restaurant Suteishi; and new restaurant Trading Post.

All the proceeds will support the Spruce Street School's music, art and physical education programs. This year's event will also celebrate the return of popular Seaport eateries, many of which had been closed for nearly a year since Hurricane Sandy.

The Taste of the Seaport runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Front Street, between Peck Slip and Beekman Street. Advanced tickets can be purchased at brownpapertickets.com. Tickets are $30 for five tastes or $100 for a family pack of 20 tastes. Day-of tickets are $35 or $120.
