BROOKLYN — Police are still trying to identify a woman whose body was found inside a shopping cart placed on rocks in Gravesend Bay more than two years ago.

The woman was discovered unconscious on July 17, 2011, covered by a black plastic bag inside the cart, which was placed on some rocks in the water off Bay 20th Street and Shore Parkway, according to the NYPD.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, and her death was ruled a homicide the following day by the medical examiner.

She is described as a Hispanic woman, 18 to 25 years old, with brown eyes and dark, curly hair, standing about 5-foot-7 and weighing 150 pounds, police said.

She was wearing "Only You" brand blue jeans with a black sleeveless summer blouse and a black belt with a silver colored oval belt buckle, police added.
