EASTCHESTER — A man's shooting death on a Bronx street Sunday morning followed a weekend filled with bloodshed in the Bronx, police reported.

The victim, whose identity was not released immediately, was shot down at 6:40 a.m. at the intersection of Boston Road and Connor Street, police said.

Officers responding to the 911 call found the man, 38, with a gunshot wound to his torso, police said. The man was rushed to Jacobi Hospital but declared dead on arrival, police said.

His death followed a fatal Saturday shooting in Soundview, where Marco Castillo, 24, was killed by gunfire after he overcame a man who tried to fight him beneath the train tracks, police said.

Another man in Claremont Village was shot and killed in front of his home, police said, on the same morning.

The mayhem kicked off with the Friday evening with a shooting of two men in Melrose, at the John Adams Houses, one of whom died.
