FINANCIAL DISTRICT — A new burger joint is hoping to be a smash hit in the Financial District.

National chain Smashburger is set to open its first Manhattan location at 136 William St. in the spring, a company spokeswoman said.

The Denver-based restaurant, known for its fresh, hand-"smashed" Angus beef burgers, also has another New York City outpost in Fort Greene.

Along with beef burgers, the fast-casual eatery serves grilled and fried chicken sandwiches, salads, hot dogs, veggie burgers and a selection of milkshakes made using Häagen-Dazs ice cream.

The burger joint, which won advisory support for its beer and wine license from Community Board 1's Financial District committee Wednesday night, will be open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
