THE BRONX — Cops released images Monday of a gunman they said fatally shot a Soundview man next who was standing next to his girlfriend last month.

The suspect shot 20-year-old Oscar Araujo Jr. in the head near Commonwealth Avenue and East 172nd Street about midnight Aug. 13, according to the NYPD.

Araujo's father, Oscar Araujo Sr., said he believed the shooting was sparked by a dispute over the girlfriend between his son and another man.

"It was a stupid argument over a girl," the elder Araujo, 43, said at the time.

"I told him, 'Leave that woman. She's going to destroy your life.' But he wouldn't listen to me. Now I don't get my son back," he added.

The suspect was last seen wearing a Washington Nationals baseball cap, a white T-shirt and blue shorts, cops said.
