Teenage Son Arrested in Bronx Dad's Murder in Bathtub

THE BRONX — A 16-year-old boy was arrested in his father's murder on Thursday night, police said.

Ivan James, Jr., was charged by police with murder in the second degree, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon, police said, following the discovery of his father's body at 11:44 p.m. on September 19 in the family's Mount Hope apartment.

Ivan James, Sr., 40, was found inside the tub at 1855 Grand Concourse, according to NBC, with significant head trauma, and was declared dead at the scene, police said.

Police had no information as to why the son would allegedly harm is father, but an investigation was ongoing.
