UPPER EAST SIDE — Changes are planned for two Central Park hot spots near Carnegie Hill and East Harlem.
The Central Park Conservancy is planning to "reconstruct the Fort Clinton and Nutter's Battery" overlooks, according to Community Board 8, which will discuss the planned work next week.
The two overlooks are located near East 107th and East 108th Streets, respectively.
The overlooks give a view onto the Harlem Meer, the manmade lake accessible from the East Side of the Park at 109th and 110th Streets, the Conservancy states on its website.
The Conservancy could not immediately provide more details on the project.
However, information posted on CB8's website indicates that "The Conservancy's goal is to enhance these sites as overlooks and destinations in the northern part of Central Park, and better integrate them into the surrounding area."
The project will be discussed at a CB8 Parks Committee meeting scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 26. The 6:30 p.m. meeting will take place at Brick Presbyterian Church, 62 E. 92nd St., in the Carnegie Room.
